Perhaps it’s not well known, but Tea has been consumed in Castilla since forever.
According to legend, Tea was planted in clumps on the edge of the garden, collected in bunches and hung upside-down to dry. The dry leaves were stored whole and were boiled directly in water that was strained and then drunk.
Tea was usually consumed for its pleasant taste but also, combined with a few other ingredients, to treat certain ailments.
This tea is an exact recreation of a family recipe passed down through the generations in which we’ve only replaced the old garden tea, now impossible to find in sufficient quantity, with Sencha green Tea.
All natural with no added aromas.

Ingredients

Sencha Green Tea
One of the most excellent Japanese teas, it has irregular sized flat leaves with an intense green colour. Its taste differs depends on where its produced. The most flavourful is the first harvest, that’s produced from the south of Japan to the north as the spring advances. It contains polyphenols, and antioxidant compounds.
Lemon Verbena Leaves
A wild plant with green leaves and pink and white flowers. Prevents gases and flatulence and is noted for relieving digestive disorders. Fights bad breath and heartburn. It’s a relaxant, reduces stress and is effective against insomnia.
Camomile Blossoms
One of the most popular and well-known infusions to treat stomach problems. It’s a light sedative, tonic and protects the gastric membrane. Its most curious property is that it relieves nausea in small quantities and provokes it in large ones.
Star Anise
Containing an essential oil, Anethol, which gives off an interestingly fresh aroma. Its used as a remedy for colic. Antibacterial and antifungal properties are attributed to it. It possesses carminative properties which favour the expulsion of gas and reduce abdominal bloating.
